Bingo with Senior-Adults
For some reason, senior-citizens really love to play bingo, so once a year, our senior high group heads over to the local senior home and plays bingo with them for an evening. Before arriving, the teens head out to the dollar store or similar and get a whole bunch of fun prizes the seniors to win (stationary for letters, Christmas gift (we go in November), small food items, candles, other small gift type things). Each time the seniors get a bingo, they get a prize. Each time the kids get a bingo, they get nothing. It is really fun because our group gets a chance to interact and talk with the senior-citizens and build relationships. We do get help from the senior center program coordinator who provides cookies and punch. The teens take turns going around and delivering food and drink as well as being the bingo caller. At the end, we sing a song or two to share ourselves with them.
